Description of Environment, characters and story background:
Two most valuable assets of an elite black-ops division (Section 7) of the FBI  are sent on a critical mission to retrieve intel from an enemy facility (Wormhole) about a formula to create a nuclear weapon which the agency believes could erase out all the population on earth. Having operated alone in all their past missions, the operatives suspect the reason behind this co-op mission. As they infiltrate the facility and progress towards their objective, they come to learn that the mission is a pretext for something else entirely as they suspected. As they further discover what is going on, they come to know that Operation: Wormhole is a suicide mission and the reason they were targeted for death. The story then follows about how the characters escape the facility and bring down their agency to its knees.
The environment would mostly be some kind of enemy facility called the Wormhole and partly woods surrounding it. Environment may include ledges, railings etc which can also be used to navigate apart from the standard paths available.
Characters: Agent Carter (Codename Ripper) and Agent Garcia (Codename Saboteur). Each player plays with one of the two characters. These characters are highly trained operatives and possess almost the same skill set.

Basic rules that highlights the core game mechanic, outcomes and sense of strategy:
      1. Third person action adventure.
      2.Standard Keyboard/Mouse setup or Controller.
      3. Two player Co-op mode of gameplay .
      4. Death of one of the players requires a restart from the last check point / save point.
      5. Shooter elements combined with melee combat.
      6. Platforming elements also being considered to make the game more interesting!
     7. While stealth is encouraged, it is not always possible to use stealth. Different missions may have different criteria or different settings.
      8. Players have a wide range of weapons at their disposal including pistols, guns, throwing knives etc.
     9. Each mission is divided into objectives with each of them requiring both the players to contribute to the objective. Something like an objective sub-divided into two sub-objectives. Each player will choose to do one of them thereby achieving the objective as a whole. However there may be times where there is just one objective which would require both the players to contribute equally.
    10. Outcomes: Not contributing enough toward an objective may reduce the player’s skill points in the game thereby depriving the player of some abilities which can be earned. For eg: Faster kills.
    11. Strategy is essential for achieving the objective! Players must have good co-ordination to achieve objectives. For eg: If there is an objective of setting up explosives in an area; while it is logical that with both the players’ combined effort the task gets done faster, there is however a possibility that enemies nearby are alerted and start attacking the players. A better strategy would be for one player to scout the area and provide cover while another is setting up explosives. Another strategy would be clear out all enemies in the area and then work on the task together.

Similar Games: Splinter Cell: Conviction (Co-op mode), Uncharted series and MGS
While games like Splinter Cell have more emphasis on shooter elements, Operation:Wormhole would have an equal contribution of shooter elements as well as combat. Again this is left to the player. Also, platforming elements are being considered which would make the game a lot different than other third person shooters. One of the objectives might see the players jointly hacking enemy computer systems while another can involve a chase sequence. The game plans to achieve some things which I believe has not been done before in a co-op game. A combination of many different elements in a co-op game would definitely make it different and interesting in my opinion.

Bullet point list of key features:
     1. Third person action adventure with shooter, melee combat and possibly platform elements.
     2. Players can use certain items/things in the environment to achieve their objective.
     3. Game objectives can include killing targets, chasing targets, setting up charges, hacking systems etc.
     4. Certain missions allow players to choose one of the two objectives presented.
    5. Players gain skill points throughout the game which can be used to achieve objectives faster. Skill points can enhance player abilities like faster kills etc.

Other Comments:

The scope of the project is indeed large and complex to be realized in a 4-month semester project. If at all the game be selected for implementation, suitable design changes would be considered for successful implementation within the given time-frame.
